What should I avoid BEFORE getting a Hydrafacial?

  • Avoid using retinol-based products, AHA’s, and BHA’s for at least 1 week prior to Hydrafacial treatment 

  • Botox injections should be done at least 2 weeks before a Hydrafacial treatment to avoid risk of displacement.

  • Dermal fillers should be done at least 2 weeks before Hydrafacial treatment to avoid risk of displacement.

Is there anything I should avoid AFTER a Hydrafacial treatment?

  • Avoid direct sun exposure as the treatment area is more susceptible to sunburn, sun damage and hyperpigmentation for 3 days following treatment.

  • Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24hrs following Hydrafacial treatment. If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, it is recommended you wait at least 48hrs before applying makeup. 

  • Avoid exercising for at least 24hrs following Hydrafacial treatment.

  • Avoid extreme heat, saunas, hot tubs for at least 72hrs following treatment. 

  • Avoid use of toners, topical acne medications for the first 3 days following treatment.

  • Aggressive exfoliation, waxing, chemical peels, RF microneedling and products containing acids should be avoided in the treatment area for a minimum of 2 weeks before & after treatment. 

  • Avoid dermal fillers and Botox for 2 weeks following your Hydrafacial treatment.

  • Try to avoid washing your face for at least a few hours following treatment. 

Should I use anything special on my face after a Hydrafacial treatment?

  • Apply a minimum of SPF 40 sunscreen to treatment areas.

  • Do not pick at your skin or squeeze pimples!

  • Use a gentle cleanser (i.e. Cetaphil or Cerave) to wash your face for 1 week following treatment.
